A fruit worth growing

The pawpaw is North America's largest native fruit and one of the least-known. Ripe fruit falls September through October — sweet, custardy, almost tropical. Each fruit holds 6–12 seeds.

These seeds come from mature trees in southeastern Pennsylvania, selected for fruit size and flavor over multiple seasons.

About the Pawpaw

The pawpaw (Asimina triloba) is North America's largest native fruit — a tropical-tasting tree that thrives in the eastern US without the care demands of more common fruit trees. Custard-like flesh, no major pest pressure, and deep roots that hold hillsides make it one of the most rewarding trees you can grow.

These seeds come from trees growing in southeastern Pennsylvania. Pawpaws need a cold, moist stratification period before they'll germinate — ours are handled over winter so they're ready to go in the ground come spring.
